“Murder on the Orient express” by Agatha Christie

In today’s modern world , book’s are not as popular as they used to be in the past . It’s very sad to see but it’s true , people nowadays have many other ways of spending their time rather than spending their time reading a good book. I personally consider books as my friend,  books are a great way of expanding our imaginations . For me reading a book and imagining its scene is a much more great experience than watching a movie on my phone . Imagination plays a very crucial role in developing a book. And others’ imagination is actually a base of a book aur may be a future movie. There are many renowned authors and poets in the world and I am  really thankful to them for their work in literature. But let me tell you about my personal favourite author Agatha Christie ,  the queen of crime thrillers and Guinness world record holder for the best selling fiction writer of all time. It’s a very difficult job for me to choose any one of our books but I think “Murder on the Orient express” has one of the the best endings among all of her books. Almost all of our books are fabulous but I have a separate feeling for this book.

Before talking about the book we should know a bit more about the author. Since her childhood Agatha was very much interested in reading and learning. Agatha did not attend any schools in her childhood due to her family financial issues but she was happy enough to learn things with family rather than staying away from them. Her parents did not want her to learn to read before she was 8 years old but she taught herself and managed to learn and read by the age of five. Since her childhood Agatha had something for literature. At the tender age of 11 or agatha’s  father died. Har family financial conditions decreased more and more, due to which organ formal schooling started at the age of 15. Did not much enjoy herself at the schools , as she was more used to the homely environment. She also learned to play piano in her school days and was really very good at it. When her studies were over she decided to start writing along with the job. She struggled for a long time to get her first book published . Despite several days and attempts she had no luck with the publishers. But after a while a publisher agreed to publish her first book “the mysterious affairs at styles” . This was a very important event in her life as she was asked to write five more books by the publisher , this encouraged Agatha to write more and more about crime fiction. After this Agatha was not very happy about her life. She lost her mother , her husband was having an affair and she still had a daughter to raise. During this point of agatha’s life she was not able to concentrate much in her writings and it all ended in agatha’s disappearance. Many fans were shocked by the news of her disappearance. Many officers were set on duty to find her after some days she was found completely alright in a hotel in Yorkshire, but the real reason for her disappearance is still known by none. Although after her return she gave a series of hit books along with more thriller endings. She divorced her husband and married an archaeologist with whom she spent the rest of our life. We all were very lucky enough to have our genius author back despite so many ups and down in her life.

Now coming back to the book the murder on the Orient express. Story starts with the retired Belgium police officer Mr Hercule Poirot solving a case of theft before going to Istanbul. After solving the case mister hercule returns to the hotel where he finds one of the main characters of the story ratchett staying along with him. Ratchet claimed himself to be a businessman but his true identity was not revealed yet. He recognised hercule poirot and told him about the threatening letters he was receiving from the past few days. He offered a good sum as a fee to safeguard him during his journey on the Orient express. Hercule Poirot could easily sense evil with the help of his sixth sense or what he called grey cells so he declined ratchett’s offer and prefered to continue his  journey to Istanbul. Suddenly Hercule received a letter which asked him to immediately return to London regarding a case. Hercule managed to find a seat in the Orient express with the help of his old police friend. He declined all his plans and traveled back to London on the Orient express. As usual Mr.Poirot greeted everyone of his fellow passengers and made his way to his compartment. At night due to a heavy snow slide the train got stuck in the mountains and the journey was stopped. In the morning when everyone gathered together to know the situation and how much delay was expected it was found that ratchett was dead everyone was in shock that one of the fellow passengers had died the previous night. The body was stabbed multiple times, some wounds from the left hand and some from the right crime scene was a total misery but Hercule wanted to know the truth so he questioned everyone individually and asked for their alibis. It was very shocking to see that almost every one of them had an alobiote could prove his aur her innocence. On further investigation it was found that many of them were hiding their true identities or connections with ratchett. Everyone was related to the murder in some or the other way and even ratchet had hidden his true identity. In actual ratchett was cassetti , a man who kidnapped and murdered an American girl named Daisy Armstrong. Daisy’s mother who was pregnant at that time died due to miscarriage and her father committed suicide after the incident but cassetti was not found guilty in the court and escaped justice. Now everyone seemed connected to the Armstrong family and cassette.

At last it was revealed that all of the 12 men who seem strangers were connected with each other and planned the murder of ratchet. At this point Hercule was not able to decide between what was right and what was wrong so he decided to leave everyone and told the cops that the murderer escaped  in the night through the window Hercule carried along with his journey to the next case and the story ended.

It was a complete wow ending for me. As every suspect was a murderer it was quite a thrill ending. For this the complete appreciation goes to Agatha Christie’s imagination. This book was left by many people and soon became one of the biggest hits of Agatha Christie.

At last I would say that books are surely one of the best ways of improving ourselves and spending some quality time with ourselves too. For all the great books we should thank all the genuine writers for their work time and thoughts of writing a book.
